Handcrafted Rustic Home Decor & Planters — Come See Us!
Rivers Woodworks started with Shou Sugi Ban candle holders, but our rustic planters — wheelbarrows, window planters, birdhouses, and benches — have become the stars at Texas markets. Too big to ship, perfect to see in person.
Our story
From candles to rustic planters
What began as handcrafted Shou Sugi Ban tea candle holders has grown into a traveling booth full of large rustic pieces locals love. Talking with customers at Canton, Ennis, and Mabank inspired our line of wooden planters and one-of-a-kind décor — built for porches, gardens, and market day inspiration.
- Rustic planters: wheelbarrows, chairs, window planters, birdhouses, and benches
- Large pieces for local pickup and market purchase
- Shippable Shou Sugi Ban candles still available online

Your Questions Answered
What is your return policy and satisfaction guarantee?
We offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee with no-hassle returns. As soon as we receive the product back, your account will be refunded the same day.
Is the Shou Sugi Ban wood messy or dusty?
Not at all. After charring, the wood is thoroughly burnished to remove all loose charcoal. This leaves a beautiful, rich natural finish that is clean and safe to handle.
Why does the color of my candle holder look slightly different than the website image?
We strive for consistency, but as we use natural Douglas Fir wood, each piece absorbs color and displays its unique grain pattern differently. These variations ensure your set is truly one-of-a-kind. Contact us if you have any concerns.
Do you offer local pickup in the Ennis/Waxahachie area?
Yes. We ship Shou Sugi Ban candle holder sets nationwide with a quick 1–2 day turnaround, and we can arrange local pickup in Ennis, TX since we attend various local markets. Please contact us before placing your order.
Do you offer decorating ideas for the Shou Sugi Ban sets?
Yes! Our tea candle holders are perfect for wedding centerpieces, seasonal mantels, and cozy bookshelves. Follow our Facebook page for staging ideas and customer photos.
What is the difference between your Tea Candle and Taper Candle logs?
Tea Candle logs are designed for low-profile tea lights and include 4 candles with your purchase. Taper Candle logs fit tall taper candles (not included) so you can choose the height and color that best fit your home.
Can I request a custom color not currently available on the website?
Absolutely! While we offer six signature colors, we are happy to try custom color requests. Contact us directly before placing your order to discuss availability.
Will you be adding other products to the store soon?
Yes! We have expanded to include horizontal Tea Candle and Taper Candle Logs in all signature colors. Check back regularly and follow us on social media for new product announcements.
